Simple answers about what iiAI is, how it works, and how it keeps your family's information safe.
iiAI is a caring AI that watches over older adults living at home. It learns what a normal day looks like for your loved one, and when something changes, it gently lets the family and their caregivers know, before it turns into a crisis.
Think of it as an extra set of caring eyes for all the hours between visits and phone calls.
For the first couple of weeks, iiAI simply learns your loved one's normal: when they usually wake up, how much they move, how they sleep, whether they chat with Alexa in the morning.
After that, it looks for a pattern of change over several days, not one bad night. For example: moving much less, skipping breakfast twice, and being restless at night, all in the same few days. That's when it reaches out.
It compares each person to their own normal, not to everyone else. What's normal for your mom may not be normal for someone else's.
It sends a calm, simple message to the right person. For example: "Mom has seemed a bit quieter these past two days. Nothing urgent. Worth checking in."
If your loved one uses a speaker like Alexa, iiAI can also gently encourage them, like suggesting breakfast or a short walk. No sirens, no scary alerts.
No. There are no buttons to press and no new habits to learn. iiAI works quietly in the background through devices they already use.
iiAI works with things many families already have:
No special equipment to buy.
A smartwatch tracks numbers, and an alert button helps after something happens, like a fall.
iiAI is different in three ways:
A smartwatch can even be one of the devices iiAI learns from.
No cameras. iiAI looks at patterns like activity, sleep, and routine, not pictures or recordings of your home.
No. iiAI doesn't diagnose anything. It helps people notice changes earlier. Every care decision stays with your family, your caregivers, and your doctors.
iiAI is offered through home care agencies and care providers, not sold directly to families yet.
Medicare has a benefit called Remote Patient Monitoring, where a care team checks in on health information between visits. We're working with billing partners to confirm how iiAI fits into it. Coverage and any copay depend on each person's plan and provider.
Our first pilot with home care agencies begins in November 2026 in Wake County, North Carolina. We'll expand to more places after that, and in the future, to the Philippines.

They're two Filipino values at the heart of iiAI.
Alaga means devoted, attentive care: looking after someone closely.
Malasakit means genuine concern from the heart: caring because you truly care, not because you have to.
They shape how iiAI talks and reaches out: warmly and gently, the way family would.
いい (ii) means "good" in Japanese. iiAI simply means a good AI, one made to care.
